Guides for particular areas of Jnes, some of these guides are contributed by the infamous Gent
Windows Media Center is a great platform that many use daily, so it stands to reason anything you can do to integrate more things into would be really cool. The goal of this tutorial is to show how to integrate Jnes into Media Center so you can play Jnes with very little effort from your couch. The Media Center team provides basically two points of integration.
- writing native .NET applications that interact with their rendering layer
- adding your application to the Online Media -> Program Library area
For Jnes we will use the second option in a very clever way, we will add the games individually to Media Center using the Application Registration utility it provides. Before we begin, let's load Jnes and configure some defaults.
- turn off the intro dialog
- configure input devices
- in options -> video turn on go full screen
- anything else you want like filters

So when you see [Game Genie] in the Cheat Dialog Note section, you know that means its a Game Genie Code that needs to be enabled either before the game is loaded or the game reset (F1) after it is enabled. The Pro Action Replay Cheat Codes are in Hex which allow the codes to take effect immediately as they modify the Memory not the ROM, so they don't need to be injected into the game before the game is loaded or reset like the Game Genie Codes do. So when you see So when you see Pro-Action-Replay] in the Cheat Dialog Note section, you know that means its a Pro Action Replay Code can just be enabled and used right away, not like the Game Genie that has to be enabled either before the game is loaded or the game reset (F1) after it is enabled.
