Tested Jnes 0.6 and 1.0 for this report. The only cheats that did not take effect for me for Legend of Zelda, The were the cheats for always wearing the blue ring and for possessing infinite bombs. If you specify a cheat and a game, I will try it out.
Question, on my JNES when i go to the cheat menu on top it doesnt have a funciton to add cheat. it pulls up the pad but on the pad and notes shows up. do i have to wrong emulator or something or what is the cause of this.
You can add cheats by clicking on right mouse button and select add cheat, you can also sort codes in a map
For example, Level Codes/Stage 1-1 corrupted. You'll see Level Codes with a icon that says that you can expand the view on that map, and there's your code
Not sure if I used the correct slash-sign, I sometimes confuse it with the wrong one...
i have a problem adding Pro Action Replay cheats on Jnes. When i add cheats and close the Cheats window it says: There was a problem parsing the cheats" Can you help me Jabo?
Cheats on Android port of Jnes - How do I add cheats?
In the Android port, there is no method to manually add cheats as far as I can see. In the /data/data/com.jabosoft.jnes/shared_prefs folder on my phone, there is a cheats.exml file, but that file is empty. I tried putting the Jnes.cht file from the Windows version in that folder, but that doesn't work, it still tells me "there are no cheats available". Then, I tried renaming the Jnes.cht file to cheats.xml, this didn't get me any results either.
But there are cheats for this game, as the cheats are shown for exactly the same roms when I load them in Jnes for Windows.
In short, could anyone tell me how I can get the Windows cheat database over to my Android phone?
Cheats on Android port of Jnes - How do I add cheats?
Hey Peter, right now the Android version just comes with the default set of Game Genie cheats originally available from Galoob. At this point there isn't a way to add additional cheats, however this is on the top of the feature request list so I'm anticipating it will happen just not exactly sure when.
I'm playing dragon warrior and when I add a cheat it works for the game, but when I save and exit jnes the cheat isn't saved and I have to type the code every time I play the game.. Is this supposed to happen or am I doing something wrong?

You may want to make sure that you have write access to the directory where Jnes is installed, and the cheat file is not read-only.
